Letter of support from Delegate Kaye Kory

Friends:  You may have heard that I have invited Imam Johari Bdul-Malik from the Dar-Al-Hijrah Islamic Center on Rt 7 to give the opening blessing at today's House of Delegates Session.  Del Adam Ebbin has joined me in sponsoring this invitation.  There has been much upset and many alarmist claims made since his invitation became public. A large group of anti-Muslim protestors will be gathering outside the Capitol this morning. At my suggestion, the Imam will be accompanied by a group from the Interfaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington (IFC). Let me be clear that I have invited the Imam as a representative of Dar-Al-Hijrah because the mosque has been active in creating a strong interfaith presence in  our community and is a vital part of our community's efforts to achieve tolerance and social justice. I am proud to stand by him today as he prays for peace in our Commonwealth and throughout the world.. I have attached his prayer and will post a picture of his visit. I know tou are supporting me in my efforts to give our district a voice here in Richmond and to demonstrate the value of our diversity.  As always, Thank you for your support.
